I want to help you have more joy and peace in your life and relationships! The truths I share in this blog have helped me do just that. These discoveries, when applied, can do the same for you!
As you’ll see I was already codependent as a child and becoming a following of Christ at age twenty-two didn’t suddenly make managing my relationships any easier. It actually made it harder. That’s because I thought if you wanted to follow Jesus, you had to sacrifice everything for others. Trying to do that only made me exhausted and miserable and Christians are supposed to be happy, right?
Thank God, He has shown me that I don’t have to make everyone happy and I can still please Him and myself! And I want to share what I’ve learned with you!
I have discovered many answers to my relationship problems. I have not arrived, but I am not where I used to be. I’m inviting you to look inside my life, to see how changing my perspective created a truer, richer bond with God, myself and others.
I’ll show you how I made the transition from unhealthy thinking, saying and doing to healthy thinking, saying and doing. This happened as I participated in several support groups and Bible studies concentrating on codependency, pursued Christian counseling with pastors and more intensely, through Bible believing mental health counselors.
Finally, I was trained as a support group leader and facilitator under Rick Amato Ministries at Grace Fellowship Church, West Palm Beach, Florida. I’ve facilitated more than a dozen short term support groups on codependency touching over 70 women. These wonderful ladies, along with God’s inspiration, are why I decided to write this blog to reach more with this message of hope.
For those who care, I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and a Master’s Degree in Special Education, with which I served students and their families for over 20 years.
When I’m not writing, working as a traditional wife and homemaker, or at church, you will most likely find me reading, watching 40’s classic movies, or planning a way to get to the beach. Most importantly, I’ll be working on my relationships with God, myself and others.

When I first saw the book, Untangling Relationships, and the subject (codependency), I thought that perhaps it didn’t apply to me or wouldn’t benefit me. Was I wrong! Each week, Donna led us through the various topics – often adding experiences from her own life, listening to our daily challenges, and enriching us with Biblical quotes. We learned to apply God’s Word to what we were studying! By the end of the course, I truly felt that I was better able to identify problems and make Godly decisions in my life.

Hi. I used to be codependent. I am now conquering codependency and I have never been happier. Let me tell you that without my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, this process would not have gone as smoothly. There are some days I find myself reverting back to the encouraging words from some of the bravest women I had the pleasure of getting to know in our intimate group. I cannot say it was an easy process, and to be completely honest some parts of the course were painful, but I would do it again without hesitation. I am forever grateful to Donna for the life skills she has given me, from the bottom of my heart. I am grateful to her for sharing with us such a life changing venture. May God continue to bless her and her family.

Donna Caruso was amazing teaching this course on codependent behaviors. The Lord clearly speaks through her. The course opened my eyes to my own issues I had and have with codependency. I learned so much in her class not only about myself but about others in my life and I would highly recommend everyone take a self-check and look into learning all they can about codependency. Donna’s course has clearly changed my life.

Being a codependent survivor, I must give great thanks to Donna for leading the group, A survivor herself, she knew bow to bring me out of my shell and face things objectively. She is truly sincere and supporting. Her knowledge of Christianity is vast and she gently brings people to understand God’s teachings and apply them to codependency. Everyone can benefit from taking a class with Donna.
